Thanks for your comments, Chris. There are many, many amazing and complicated stories of people overcoming significant obstacles in their lives. I've never told my kids life is supposed to be easy or fair. You have to take it as it is. But that being said, it doesn't need to be structurally unfair in ways that a civilized society can address. (Capitalism is terrific but it needs to be regulated to avoid manipulation of monopoly power to maintain fair competition.) My main point, I guess, is that it seems like the writing is on the wall, and we can see what the future looks like if we continue down this path. I agree that Amazon and Google and Tesla have created tremendous wealth for a lot of people, but they have also left innocent victims in their wake, and it's not unreasonable to help those people (whether they be brick-and-mortar business owners, or even the middle class, more broadly) transition into a new world - in a way that avoids unnecessary pain, displacement, and even, revolution.
