This is all in the eyes of the beholder. The "far left" would say that the center has moved so far to the right in the past 40 years so that Ronald Reagan would now be considered a moderate Democrat. And given that the "far right" has gone off the charts, they might be right. But regardless, I sense a bit of optimism in your words, which I appreciate. I too am an optimist, a determined optimist.
